I am stressing about packing! I am an overpacker anyways. Do you have any idea of the weather, or is it too early? I am going to bring dress clothes, but should I bring dress clothes for our melting pot night and for the boat cruise? Also I am going to bring workout clothes for if we go for a hike, plus casual clothes. I am always so nervous when I go away that i will forget something.
Re: Paula
Whatever you do, DON'T PANIC. LOL
NWS says both Saturday & Sunday should hit around 63-65 and sunny. Weather.com has the temps a little higher (Sunday almost 70!
.) Monday before you leave it's supposed to be around 65-70 and cloudy. However, it ALMOST ALWAYS rains at least somewhat on Memorial Day weekend. LOL
Saturday we can dress up or down as much as you want. I don't know if I can fit into my nice pants yet, so I'd be wearing trouser jeans, so NO WORRIES. The Melting Pot is not going to kick us out for dressing semi-casual. LOL (We've seen people in sweatshirts and jeans there.)
Sunday: we don't really need to dress up for either boat cruise (the brunch is just that: a brunch. The nighttime cruise will be chillier so I'm not expecting people to be wearing evening attire for the fireworks tour.)
I say bring clothes you're comfortable walking in/hiking in, a few casual outfits, and stuff you can mix in with the casual outfits to go out Saturday night. Worst case scenario, we hit the Mall on Saturday before the Melting Pot. LOL
I'm calling the Boat Cruise place shortly to book our brunch and fireworks cruises.
I'm wondering if we should make a Melting Pot reservation or just wing it - I don't think they're going to be all that busy over the weekend. Most people here go camping, not out to dinner.
LOL I am trying not to panic! I am stresser by nature.
Yeah I figure I'll bring an array of stuff and your right worse comes to worse we can go shopping.
If you don't think it will be busy don't worry about the melting pot reservation. Then we can go at whatever time we want. The one by us is usually packed so I usually make one just in case. But your right a lot of people do outdoorsy stuff that weekend.
There's a small mall like 3 miles from our house, so no worries if you NEED something. LOL (Granted, they really only have a JCPenneys, Younkers, Kohls, and maybe a few smaller stores like Maurices, Gap.) The Fox River Mall in Appleton (by the Melting Pot) is HUGE and has everything from Banana Republic to Macys to a much larger Gap, and even Ann Taylor.
DON'T overpack though. Remember - 50 pounds is the limit. LOL
Sista, I hear you. LOL This past week and weekend was like a free-for-all on food. LOL I think you'll be fine with whatever you bring. You always look great, so no more fat talk!! Besides, you're coming to the land of beer and cheese... you don't know fat until you've seen WI!
Well it's not likely to be the BEST weekend you've ever eaten. LOL But hopefully we'll be active enough to balance it out.
I booked our cruises on Sunday!
We also have a standing invitation to Greg's parents house for a cookout Sunday, but we told them we probably wouldn't make it. I think we were invited out to Waupaca (OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE LIKE AN HOUR from here), too. LOL
Do you think it's odd that the three of us are doing stuff together? Mark seemed surprised that the three of us were going out (vs just you and I). We can totally rearrange some stuff so it's just you and I if that would be more comfortable.
YAY! I'm excited about the cruise.
Exactly we will just walk a lot.
I don't mind Greg coming at all. It doesn't bother me!
An updated forecast for you:
Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. (Don't worry - the car should be warm enough and I'll put on the heat and bring you a sweatshirt or something!! LOL)
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 69. (The low at night will drop into the 40s again.)
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69. (The low at night will be in the upper 40s, low 50s. One station is calling for some rain that evening, but I think that's precautionary because it OFTEN rains at least part of the Memorial Day weekend! LOL)
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.
