holy crap...change of plans.
you know, we have known we were moving for a couple weeks now and just when i post it on here, something changed! E's work countered...they really really want him to stay there. we had a long heart to heart last night...looking at the budget, determining our happiness, where we want to be, etc. etc. and ultimately decided to stay put for now. soooo, we are not moving and i feel (i hope anyway!) that we are making the right decision for us. i am so happy this is a long weekend because i just want to sit back and relax and forget about all the stress the past 2 months has put on our backs. so, now i will breathe a sigh of relief. thanks for being there for me and listening!
Re: holy crap...change of plans.
Sounds like a relief! How awesome that he is valued so much at his job. I hope you can relax this weekend.
DH and I are getting off a similar rollercoaster - but not so drastic b/c it wouldn't have been a new area, jobs, life, etc. We've been going back and forth about refinancing or moving. We finally decided to try to sell our house and move. We contacted a realtor and started looking at listings. Just when we find a house in our price range that we love from pics/drive bys, we find out that it's not the best time to sell our house. We would have taken about a 7k loss. The ups and downs of excitement over moving then disappointment over not have exhausted us. We love our house but the prospect of a new one was exciting. Guess it's meant to be for us to stay here and you there.

Christina probably said it best...rollercoaster of emotions (for both of you!). ITA agree though with what she said though about how awesome it is that your DH was so valued at his job to get a counteroffer. That's a big deal now a days with the current economy and job situation. That had to give him a little ego boost and feeling of satisfaction/pride.
Christina that stinks about the loss if you were to sell now. I'm hoping the housing market rebounds big time in the next few years so we can sell our TH and get something bigger and I'm really hoping to make a nice profit since we've done some upgrades and have more planned.
That's great news. Obviously your dh is an asset to his current company that they really want to keep him.
Rollercoaster is right! Wow! Good for you guys though, and I am glad you're staying put
I'm working on an email too...hopefully I'll get it out to you soon.
