Co-irker Rant
Can a man be a twatwaffle? Because that's how one can best describe this dude.
He is laying the groundwork to dump a trial (most likely onto my desk) that is scheduled for Tuesday. It's a serious rape case, not exactly something another attorney can pick up and run with at the last minute. He's been handling it for months, yet hasn't done any prep work on it other than meeting with the victim.
His wife is pg, due in mid-June, but he says that she thinks she might have felt a contraction this morning so he may not be here next week. Normally I'd be understanding of a medical excuse, but he has a chronic history during the past 4 years of dumping his work on people at the last minute. Yet the chief of our division thinks he's wonderful for reasons that are unknown to anyone else in the office.
Can I have a liquid lunch?

At this point, I'm seriously considering taking the afternoon off. I'm just so effing annoyed I can barely sit still at my desk. And I've already tattled to my co-workers & court staff. That way if I do end up getting saddled with this Tuesday, hopefully the judge will get wind of what happened and won't be too difficult about granting a short continuance if necessary.
