AW: I finally booked my B Pics and Help!

So............ I finally found just the right (woman) photographer and booked b-pics. I hope to have them back in time for DH's birthday. He's turnig 25, and I've already been giving him crap about being one quarter century old coming up in July. I really hope he isn't weirded out by them and likes them.

Dilema, do I spend the money and get my hair and make up done? I'm thinking for sure on the makeup because I don't do dramatic make up very well. Do I spend the money (and pain) on getting waxed? Do I spend the money on new lingerie or just wear the stuff he has already seen (and likes).

Thoughts??

  • Big SmileYou are brave!  I would like to do them, but I honestly think DH would laugh and be like what in the world? He wouldn't want me to spend money to get them done....my BFF asked me what i wanted to do for my birthday since i'm going to be a quarter of a century old this year...lol boo!! ...i'm sure that made him feel real old!

Hmm, I dunno about the makeup and hair thing. Do you have a friend who could do your hair for you so it wouldn't cost as much? & you could get your makeup done @ MAC for free....well atleast you can down here. I'm not sure how it works in MN...but you could probably get your make up down and then just buy some eyeshadow or mascara or something if you dont already wear MAC makeup-  I do & I LOVE it!....

& the lingerie... I really don't know what to tell ya about that one. I hate spending money on lingerie... idont like wearing it to much so i hate to spend money on it.. i only bought one thing for our "mini moon"...it was nothing fancy....DH said he liked it...i've worn it a few times since then... I guess it just depends on if you think youll wear them again... BUT I would def do a few pics in the ones that you know he really likes..

Im excited for you! I'm sure it will be fun!!

  • I LOVE your dog - I seem to love all dogs, but I'm glad you put up a pic of yours! Free make-up... that could be a good plan. I'm thinking I'll try not to spend anything on new lingerie as it is getting expensive for these pics... I wanted a really reputable and non-scummy photog for these so it's a little more than I want to spend. What do I do if DH asks me how much I spent? Just say, honey it's a gift so you're not allowed to know? (at least it's my belated tax refund money, and I got more than I thought I would, so I'm not spending money we don't have.)

Would you order a nice, fancy album from the photog or put together your own with the pics. (She'll either do an album or CD, but it's more money for the album.) You get the photos online either way.

  • I paid extra for a make up artist (same one who did my wedding make up) and she also did the hair for the photos too.?

I bought a bunch of new stuff to wear for the photos, except for the Mets Jersey which was Rich's and the maid outfit which I got at Halloween.

You can see my pics here

My photos included the CD of images, the pics online, and a photobook. But If you can pay for the CD and make your own book on Vista Print or somewhere cheaper, then I would say go for that. (or just give hubby the CD and he can decide later if he even wants a book printed)?

I would put together my own. I am making albums for MIL and DH mamaw on Shutterfly. I hope to order them next week, i've slacked majorly this week.  but they have several different options.. They were my favorite, i looked on shutterfly, photobucket, and snapfish....shutterfly had the best options.

Definitely spend the money to get the makeup done, sometimes if you just roll your hair with curlers and finger through it gets a really soft and sexy look if you don't want to pay somebody else to do it :)

I got waxed because photographers said it is hard to photoshop out each little hair, just remember you dont necessarily have to get everything taken off.

I used a mix of new and old...wore his dress shirt that he proposed in, bought the Kentucky Jersey, a bra & pantie set, and then a nightie, plus a pair o fshoes that worked with them all...you will have sooooooooooo much fun doing this!!!
