Anything going on in NOLA for Memorial Day?
DH, DD and I will be making our first attempt at a hotel stay since DD was born this Sunday thru Tuesday in New Orleans. We're planning on going to the aquarium/zoo but from what I can tell, all of the Audobon Institute attractions are closed on Mondays.
Anyone know of anything going on in the French Quarter? If the weather is nice we'll just hang out at the hotel pool and walk around some, but it'd be fun to do "something".
TIA!

Dont be afraid to travel outside of the French Quarter, there is so much to do beyond those few city blocks, and most attractions are suprisingly easy to get to. Go to the front desk of your hotel and they should be able to tell you what the easiest way to get to something willl be. (Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World, is in a Algeirs, which is on the westbank of the mississippi river, but all you have to do is hop on the ferry by the aquarium and your there!) So if anything intrest you, but doesnt seem like it is in your area just ask a local. You will be suprised at how small this city is.
I hope you have a ton of fun and your experience is great here.

I agree, Mardi Gras World is a must see espically if the only Mardi Gras you've seen is on TV. It's a real eye opener, however, Mardi Gras World has moved to the East Bank. It's next to the Convention Center in the old warehouses. It's on the Garden District side. HTH!
The Greek Fest will be going on this weekend( Where I will be!)--- http://www.hotwire.com/air/review-fare.jsp?actionType=2&searchId=5033176070&selectedSolutionId=55684378037&selectedPGoodId=63124653916&ffLid=air/results.jsp:booking-main:loc:0:continue-retail
Also the Bayou Boogaloo, it is a fairly new festival that has grown just over the past couple of years. http://www.thebayouboogaloo.com/
