Doesn't look like we'll make it...

to the house this weekend! Noooooooo! Crying All evidence is pointing that we need a minimum of a week to get it barely live in ready. Our landlord gave us this Sunday to get out. I really can't blame anyone. DH and I did our best with the upstairs. It was less than 1 month and we did all we could. Now its on to MIL's place. Crying. Thank God it's only for a week and we'll be spending most of our time over in the house trying to put the finishing touches. We'll definitely take advantage of the long weekend. We are moving our stuff out on Saturday from our current apartment.

We still need to get the bathroom set up (already have new tub, toilet, vanity, just need to put them in), carpet bought and installed, paint the bedrooms...we'll see how it goes!

Thanks, just had to get that out!

Oh I'm so sorry lawby!  I hope everything goes smoothly this week, and you're out of the ILs in no time. GL! (and I can't wait to see some pics)

  • Hope this week goes by fast for you. Good luck with the moving in/finishing everything.
  • Hopefully, you can get a lot of stuff done this weekend and it will feel real soon.
  • aaawww...I'm sorry you have to live with the MIL for the week Karllen. Don't worry tho'...it won't be as bad as you think...hopefully. =) Joey and I have been talking about putting our house on the market in the next year or 2 (I know, it seems like we just got here, but we need bigger if we're gonna expand the family...this is just too small), but my point is if we sell it faster than planned and can't find what we are looking for within that time, we may have to live with *gulp* my parents for a little while 'til we find a new house, so I know how you feel. =) I hope you have a great, productive weekend.

  • I know how you feel!  Renovations take soooo much longer than you think!  We actually had to pay an extra month's rent for our CATS to have their own apartment, because our wood floors hadn't come in yet, so we had no floors down (just plywood and loose nails everywhere).  We were living in a house with no floor in the living room or upstairs hallway (had to wears shoes all the time, even to the bathroom in the middle of the night!) and our cats were living it up in our old apartment!  The only furniture in the whole apartment was cat beds and blankets!

  • I'm chiming in late here, but Lawby you'll be in your new home before you know it. Just think calming thoughts while staying with MIL! Thank God it's only for a week. Did I ever mention I lived with mine for a whole year when I moved to NY while DH and I saved for our first apartment? So, you can do it! Give us an update soon!
  • Thanks ladies for the words of encouragement! I am currently nesting from MIL's living room. Day 2 and we are surviving, so thank God. Alright, I am getting off since my battery is dying here.

    Thanks again. Smile
