School's Out for Summer!!

Yay!  I am officially on vacation until Aug. 10th.  Big Smile

I'm still going to be busy, though.  We're in the process of renovating our house, plus I'm (still) taking grad classes.

What are you ladies doing this summer?

Re: School's Out for Summer!!

  • Have a fun summer!

I read your blog on adopting, I hope that it goes smoothly for you!  Have they given you any clue how long the average wait is once you are approved?

For me... I just got back from a long weekend camping trip, fun time wth friends.  In early June I'll have a crazy week at work, followed by a week in Hawaii!  (I've never been)

So far nothing huge going on this summer...except I'll apparently spend a week being jealous of Diamond while she's in HI.  Stick out tongue

Yay for summer Katy.  Are you doing an MEd?  WHere are you taking your classes.

Best of luck on the adoption.  (I'm a Luddite on dial-up.  Reading blogs is reserved for when I get wi-fi on trips.)

Our big plans are going back east for DH's brotehr to get married.  I talked him into us spending a week on teh beach somewhere on teh GA coast. So I'm not completely jealous of Diamond!

Thanks, Claire!  We were told that the average wait time is about 6 months from start to finish.  We actually have an appt. next week to get our fingerprinting done, as well as some additional paperwork.  We're also in the process of renovating our house, so we asked them to hold off on the placement for a couple months.  We should have all the paperwork and homestudies done in about a month, and then they will start placing us in October or so (after most of the construction is complete).

Hawaii sounds awesome!!!  I would LOVE to go someday.  Have fun!!

Hey flame!  I'm actually getting my Master's in Special Education.  I have six classes left so I'm getting closer to the end.  If everything goes as planned, I'll be done in May 2010 (I teach full-time, so that's why it's taking forever).  I'm taking my classes at ENMU since I live about 1 block from the University. Haha!

The beach is awesome!  Have fun in Georgia!!

Six months is actually less than I thought you would say, even though I bet it feels like a long time right now!  Sounds like you will be renovating one of your rooms into a nursery  Big Smile

That's great you can get your MEd in Special Ed at Eastern. beats commuting to ABQ or Cruces for classes.

Masters, renovating and a baby sometime soon.  You are one busy lady!
