York Hair Salon Recommendations
Does anyone have a recommendation for a hair salon in York? I am thinking of changing because the place I currently go is "back home" and I am getting tired of running up there every five weeks.
I am looking for a place that does coloring and waxing (ouch). If you get your hair colored how much do you pay?

Hi there. I go to Escape Salon and Day Spa on Carlisle Rd. in Shiloh. It's fairly close to the Holiday Inn in W. York. I see Trisha Fox and she does a great job. I had gone to a pretty well-known salon in York but was very unhappy with a color job there and left. I've been seeing Trisha for nearly 5 years. I used to have her color my hair but I stopped getting it colored when we started TTC. She always did a great job. Not sure what she now charges for color. I'm actually having her cut my hair on Saturday.
I also get my brows waxed there, too. Lisa Marie is the esthestician there that does the waxes. She always does a great job and she's so friendly and personable.
Kristen @ Escape Salon and Day Spa is also a great hair stylist.
I'll be sad if we ever move away from the area. I think it's hard to find a salon that you really like. Good luck!
I go to Studio Five in east York. It's right off Market Street in the area of the old drive in movie theater. I see Jennifer Furst although they have several stylists. Jen has been the only person to cut my hair for the past 10+ years. I've referred several friends to her and they've all been pleased. My mom also sees her every Friday!
I don't get my hair colored but waxing is only $5...at least for brows. They do everything there except nails. If you call her, feel free to use my name...Lena

Mrssoll - Melissa does my hair and brows!! Too funny! You can ask her about me - she knows me as the foster mom from Chicago. She does a great job!
Before Melissa, I went to Krystan Brush at Escape. I really liked her, but had to stop driving across town when we started getting little ones and I had limited time.
I go to Salon East on east market street (right past the "old timey" turkey hill at Hill St.).
Absolutely adore them
I see Libby there, but there are several stylists.
I get my hair trimmed, highlighted, colored and I get my eyebrows waxed -- all there. They're fantastic at everything, really. My appointments run $50-80 depending on what I have done.
