Question for pet owners

Do you have a pet sitter or pet hotel that you would recommend?

I need to start figuring out what we're going to do with the dog when we go to Nicaragua at the end of July. ILs found a pet sitter that comes to your house but it sounds pointless because she works 9-10 hrs a day so the dog will be instead the entire time and since we have a puppy I'm not sure he can handle that.

TIA!

Re: Question for pet owners

  • My aunt has a doggie day care company.  I think she sometimes takes them over night, also.  I'll check and give you her info if she does.  She's in Long Beach, if that's not too far.

Thanks that'd be great!  Ideally I'd like him to not be in a cage all day so if I can find a place that would feel like a home thats my goal.

  • I have been consistently happy with Paws Pet Resorts in Lake Forest (MBOC uses them too!).  I have used Aliso Pet Suites and although they were fine, they were more expensive and they also charge you to use your own food for the dogs rather than eat whatever it is that they feed.

We had to board our dog a lot and this is who we used too.  So worth the money because our dog loved it.  We never had an issue and used them probably 10 times in a year.  They took good care of our dog and she was always depressed she had to leave there.  lol

We also used PetSmarts Pet Hotel to board our cat before our move and they were great too.  They called me often with updates and if there were any issues.  They were uber cheap too.

  • One more thing about Paws Pet Resorts is that unlike some of the other places I looked into, they charge per night and not per day, which in the end made them cheaper overall.

  • We take our dogs to Doggietown USA in Huntington Beach. ?We liked them because they dont cage the dogs, and they also put our big dog and little dog together. ?

Now that our big dog has passed away, we'll probably try to find something closer to Aliso.?

I also use Paws Pet Resorts in Lake Forest. The people there are really great and Halo always comes home exhausted from all the play time he got with his new friends.  I also love that you can watch them during the day on their live webcam stream!

10Y, I bet our doggies have played together before!!! I usually just take him when we are out of town, but when we have the extra cash we take him during the week too so he can socialize more!

  • Okay, been texting my cousin since I can't call anyone while up working the phones.  I got my aunt's business #.

You can call her and ask her any questions you may have. Her name is Karen and her # is (562) 843 - 3721

Just tell her that her niece, Heather referred ya.

  • Another vote for Paws Pet Resort in Lake Forest. I used them the past two years and liked them.

Second would be Camp Bow Wow in Anaheim who I've used for one year (3 visits) and always had a good experience.
