2nd anniversary gift--cotton?

What should I get DH for our 2nd anniversary?  Am I right that the traditional gift is cotton?  What meaningful thing can I get for him that has to do with cotton?  Please help!

Re: 2nd anniversary gift--cotton?

  • It depends on your price range. Most sites say about pj, blanket, high count Egyptian cotton sheets, things  that are monogramed. If you have $ for a weekend away... maybe give him a pice of real cotton in the rough and then you guys take a weekend where you could tour a plantation that still has cotton. Boone Plantation in SC comes to mind. I'm sure there are some in Virginia, too.

  • This was the easiest year for me to buy for my DH...he is obsessed with T-shirts!  He probably has 30-40 in his closet right now...that doesn't include his work shirts (old t-shirts) and dressy/nice shirts!

  • I got DH socks, and a couple of t-shirts for our anniversary last year.  He got me a blanket with our wedding date and names embroidered on it...oh and socks too!  It was a fun year for us!  We also went to dinner at a nice restaurant.  We try to follow the traditional gift giving but not to go crazy...it makes it fun.

  • DH is suppose to pick out the hammock he wants

  • I got my DH a no-snore pillow so he could sleep on his back! It was actually great for an anniversary gift because now we can go to bed at the same time (I don't have to fall asleep before he starts snoring), I don't wake up ten times, and he doesn't get pushed onto his side by me all night long! )
