Poll - speaking of rings...

This made me curious (and I am afraid to post this over there)-

Do you take off your engagement ring/wedding band?

Does your DH take off his wedding band?

Re: Poll - speaking of rings...

  • I only wear a wedding band because I was never a big ring person. I only take it off if I am playing with it at my desk at work or if I am gardening without gloves or doing something messing in the kitchen (like smashing tomatoes). Honestly it never occurred to me to take it off to the gym I just wear it in the pool or on the treadmill.

DH has not taken his off since our wedding day.

  • Right now, both rings are off because I'm afraid that I won't be able to get them off as I get closer to my due date...plus my fingers swell bad in the warmer weather.  They are locked in our safe until after baby is born.  I used to always take my rings off before bed every night because sleeping in your rings are the WORST thing to do...it will bend your prongs and cause the stone to get loose.  I would also take them off to do messy things like gardening or painting.

DH pretty much keeps his on at all times but will take it off to do messy things (especially painting).

  • I take mine off for manicures, and when I'm making meatloaf or some other messy food.  That's about it though.

    Dh never takes his off.

i take mine off before bed, when i get a shower, and when we go swimming.

dh takes his off when he plays basketball every thursday, when he golfs, showers, swims, and sleeps.  he has lost it twice (luckily found it twice!), so he takes many precautions now. LOL!

I haven't been able to wear my rings for a few months because my fingers swelled up so much while I was pregnant! I guess I should check to see if they fit!

Before that though I would only take off my rings for messy things like gardening and painting. I also take them off before I go swimming.

DH takes his off sometimes, but I don't think there is any rhyme or reason behind it.

  • I don't wear my rings around the house, so when I'm home they're in my little crystal ring holder on my dresser.  Pretty much the only time I have rings on is when I'm out "in public", but even some of those times I'll leave them at home...like if we're going for a bike ride or a walk or just running an errand quickly.  No matter what though, if I don't have my rings on, I always get that feeling like I'm missing or forgetting my rings as soon as I walk out the door, but never get that feeling while I'm at home, it's weird.  I was never much of a jewelry person :(

My DH will only take his ring off when he's doing messy things and when he showers.

  • Mine are on 24/7 unless I'm mixing dough or something in the kitchen.
  • I used to only take mine off to shower or put lotion on but after I really bent a prong on my e-ring last year I've been much more protective of it.  My wedding band has channel set diamonds so I don't worry about it as much.  Many times these days, because of Pilates, I don't wear my e-ring to work (just wear my wedding band) and no matter what as soon as I get home my e-ring comes off and goes into a little holder.
