POLL:: Injury
reading MrsKimms post about her DH injury got me wondering...
1. What is the most ridiculous injury your DH has brought upon himself while you have been dating/married???
2. Did he have surgery?
3. Was he out of work? if so, How long?

This is kind of a tough one being that I am usually more clumsy/accident prone than DH. His major medical mishaps stem from being a wrestler in high school. At one point he actually broke a bone in his back, but his coach told him to go back out and finish the match. (They learned at the hopital later that he'd broke a bone.) He also has double jointed thumbs that were abused due to wrestling.
So... in light of this.
1) He is constantly bending back his thumbs of putting them out of joint doing farm things. (because he nearly wrecked them forever in high school wrestling.)
2) No surgery yet, but he duct tapes his hand and thumb to stabalize it if he's doing anything physical for extended lengths. (I guess like runner tape their ankles, etc..)
3) Nothing puts him out of work unless he can't move. Somedays, he amazes me like that. Even though he is a typical whiney male if he a cold, headache, etc, he ALWAYS does get up and go to the farm.
I'll be interested to hear from those of you with better stories
DH thinks he's evil kneivel. Two weeks after we started dating he shattered his left ankle & broke his right foot. The date was April 1st- April fools day- & it took quite alot of convincing on his part for me to believe that he was actually injured--- He was supposed to be going to dinner w/ me & my dad that night... So you can see why I wouldnt believe him.
Dh was out riding his motorcycle with a friend, when he got the bright idea that it would be totally cool if he stood on the seat of his motorcyle- so he did. He stood on the seat of his bike doing 35mph in an abandoned neighborhood. He said he couldn't get sat back down on his seat so he just jumped off. lol uhm? I just wonder what in the world was going through his head when he did that...
So...to make a really stupid long story shorter.... He ended up having emergency surgery on his left ankle because it was just a shattered mess. He was inthe hospital for 4 days. While he was inthe hospital i was still taking care of some roadrash on his butt from a previous wreck..... he has wrecked that bike i dont know how many times!!!!
He actually hasn't ridden in over a year. but its still sitting in our garage.. oy!
He was out of work for 2 very long months......
Dh hasnt gotten any fun injuries like those.... but he is a big baby when it comes to getting sick and all that..drives me crazy!
About all I have seen with him is road rash, bumps bruises, little stuff from being a show-off on 4 wheelers and such.
my DH doesn't participate in very many sports (unless bowling and poker count)?
he did hurt his leg once somehow, while we were long distance, so I never got the full story, but he was on crutches for a couple weeks and because of that he got a special parking spot at work (in the garage under the building, instead of the one thats a five minute walk away).
?
