So here's my story...
I got home from work last night and we have a message on our home answering machine. We RARELY use our landline, and very few people call us on it (or even have that number.) Message is along the lines of (fairly garbled and the message-leaver sounds kind of drunk or something):
"Hey Paula... its Kristi/Kristin/Crystal [undecipherable]. I'm at the Country Inn in Marlboro/Marlsboro. My friend Marni is coming to spend the night with me. I'm trying to have a good day, but things keep getting in my way. But with support from my sisters like you.. I'll be alright. I wanted to call and tell you I love you. Oh, yeah... give me a call here, room #XXX, or leave me a message here and I'll get it. Okay, bye."
It was GENUINELY odd. I listened to it a few times to make sure it wasn't someone I knew and even had Greg listen to it. Nope, so I just left it and ignored it.
Until she called AGAIN this morning at like 4:10 AM!!! She realized after I'd said "Hello" and "Who is this?" a few times that it wasn't the right person and she said "Oh that's not you" and HUNG UP ON ME.
Re: Interesting wrong number.
What's just as odd is she knew my name, obviously, but our home answering machine is GREG saying "Greg & Paula aren't here right now...etc"
So if you're calling your girlfriend - someone you're close enough to that you'd call her your sister (or if she is actually your sister) - don't you think you would've figured out that this isn't the right Paula when A DIFFERENT GUY is on the answering machine?! LOL
I didn't really. Greg had left like 45 minutes earlier and I was having a hard time getting back to sleep... so the phone rang about the time I'd gotten comfortable! My heart was pounding and I didn't get back to sleep until nearly 5.
The few times my phone has rung in the middle of the night it has never been good news so I would have been the same way. If i wake up like that (my heart pounding) it takes me a loooong time to fall back asleep.
