Please help me make up my mind.

I worked out yesterday... for the first time in like 2 weeks.  I did some Biggest Loser DVD and additional stuff (various crunches and upper body stuff.)

So I'm sore today.  I could tolerate working out again ... until I consider my quads.  SORE.  Like probably about a 7 on a 1-10 scale (10 being "I can't move, I'm calling in sick").

I want to work out again.  I NEED to work out again.  Here are my thoughts:

1 - Take the day off and workout tomorrow (not my first choice.)

2 - Tae Bo, 25 minute video, which is fairly easy for me, but I never really see results doing just this video alone.

3 - Tae Bo, 50 minute video.  Still Tae Bo, so it's fairly easy but it's longer with more complex strings of moves and my hamstrings always feel it the next day for some reason. (This is the way I'm leaning, but I'm fearful I won't be able to move tomorrow.)

4 - 30 Day Shred.  HARD, but I'd probably do only Level 1 which when I've been sore before has actually helped the soreness, but it's not long enough to show me results on its own.

Please feel to discuss. LOL

Re: Please help me make up my mind.

  • I'd do the 25 minute Tae Bo.  You don't to over do and this way you are still getting Cardio in.

  • Ditto Mel, definately don't over do it because then you will be even more sore tomorrow.

I am having a similar struggle (sorry for making this about me lol) I didn't go to the the gym this morning so I was going to go for a run tonight but then I want to work out tomorrow morning also and I don't like doing workouts so close together.

You can make it about you. LOL  I'd do something tonight and then a different activity tomorrow.  (So tonight you run but tomorrow you do lifting, but focus on upper body or something that works your muscles differently.)

I REALLY want to push through the 45 minute Tae Bo.  My hamstrings don't hurt today, so I wonder if I could do it and not make myself more sore, you know?

  • Yeah thats a good idea Paula, I think maybe I will run tonight and do some elliptical and strength tomorrow.

If you think you can do the 45 min go for it! Just make sure you stop if you are too sore.

Because they're more complex movements, I usually end up stopping a few more times to watch while walking in place to get what I'm supposed to do. LOL  I'll stop, don't worry. Smile
