Since It's Sloooooooowwwwww

Our 1 yr anniversary is a little over a week away, and I haven't planned anything. (I know I know... our marriage is doomed) Money is  a little tight right now so I'm kind of curious- What would you ladies do that doesn't cost much but would still be fun/memorable? Keep in mind I'm almost 9mos. pregnant and I don't want to do anything like... eat outside at a super hot park while the ants march through our food. :D

Re: Since It's Sloooooooowwwwww

  • My DH and I were talking about this as well. Money is a little tight because we just purchased a home a few months ago. We were thinking about taking two days off from work and doing absolutely nothing. Watching movies, eating take out, and just being together. We are so busy that just laying around for two days in our PJ's will be a great time. When is your due date?
  • My due date is August 15th, or depending on which part of the hospital you ask, the 19th. However, I doubt that will matter as my Dr. is pretty sure this little guy is coming early. I kind of hope he does.
  • if money is tight, and you want to do the traditional paper, you could make him a card & make him dinner :)

    or:
make him a cutesy coupon book
    start a scrapbook

you could go to the movies & your tickets could be your "paper"?  i don't know, i'm not creative.

  • I like BW's idea of playing off the "paper" tradition. Things like scrapbooks are really romantic and meaningful, but don't have to cost a lot...

Other fun things that N and I like to do together in the house: games night (cards, board games, Playstation; you could also have couple friends come over to play with you), cooking something extra-special (and a special dessert is always romantic), renting a favorite movie or a set of movies (like an HBO series you've been wanting to see)... And you could also see if any museums, galleries, or shops in your area are having any sort of event any time soon. Good luck!

I always forget that you were married earlier than the rest of us!
