Does anyone come here anymore?

No posts in a week??  Come on ladies... Something exciting has to have happened somewhere!

Re: Does anyone come here anymore?

  • My girls started swimming lessons this morning.

    My feet are swollen.

It's rained every day for a week and they're forecasting rain every day for at least the next week.

I got my stairways and the nursery painted last week and Mike put up the crib yesterday.

My mother keeps sending me links to houses for sale within walking distance of her house even though we would NEVER move that close to her, aren't moving until next year and would NEVER move that close to her.

    I need a haircut.
  • um... let's see:

    i also need a haircut.

i'm going to indiana in 2 weeks, to where it's currently flooded like crazy.  (i'm sure waters will have receded by then)

the people on the 2nd trimester board annoy the shiit out of me.

my 2 summer online classes started today.

how in the hell am i going to write a resignation letter!?

  • I get to preview the new Toy Story ride at Disneyland on Wedensday

I attempted to be "home improvement" gal and fix a lighting fixture (didn't work)

We bought all of our fathers day/graduation gifts

Just found out that someone didn't get a thank you note for a gift that I KNOW I wrote

An old man hit on me speaking only spanish

I've lost 17 pounds on WW so far. :)

  • See... these are the things I need to know ladies.  Lol.

I also need a haircut.  Badly

I am no longer sleeping more than about 3hrs at a time.  It sucks.

My feet are also swollen, as are my legs and my fingers.

    I'm tired, and usually crabby.
  • I too need a haircut but am neither swollen nor crabby.

We're getting a new mattress today and are still working on renovating the bathroom.  Still.

I'm currently listening to "This American Life" on the 'net.  Other than that I'm pretty boring.

  • Thanks BW! I'll let you know how it is. :)

    P.S. I don't think I tld you -- my dad is a Boilermaker, too!

  • Hi bw!  Yea I've given up on it too, but I miss it so much.  Maybe you should just jump on over to 3rd tri if you don't like 2nd anymore.  I got sick of that board too.
  • Ash, you obviously missed the hubbub BW caused by coming over to 3rd tri this morning to chat with me and some of the other b?tches.  The feti of most of the reasonable women have already dropped so it's turning into a bit of wasteland.
  • BW ....
here are some samples of a resignation letter ... hope it helps:

  • I am doing nothing but studying Arabic all day, every day (as I'm sure you all can see with my fb status updates).

I've gotten back into running again, though, which is good.

I just made two amazing chilled summer soups (a corn-cashew chowder and a tomato-avocado, tell me if you want the recipes) and I am very impressed by how they turned out.

It has been in the 90s and 100s in DC for the past few days and I have permanently given up on having my hair look decent, regardless of whether it's been recently cut.

N and I saw "Bigger Faster Stronger*" the other day and I thought it was intriguing.

Oh, and Saturday I went to see Hillary's endorsement speech at the National Building Museum, which was pretty cool.

  • That is cool Joce. I'm still fudging around with last minute edits on my dissertation, so I have no life. Hopefully, I'll print tonight and distribute tomorrow. Then I can begin frantically preparing the most important talk I've ever given... so I still will have no life. I really need a hair cut-- I decided I wouldn't cut it until I defended. So, it's been at least 6 months. ha. But, I probably should get it done before I defend so I don't look like I crawled out of a cave. I'm tired and sick of writing. I want a vacation. But, we're minus two weeks and counting now... so I think I'd be excited if I could ever get thsi damn document out.
  • Liz, this is exciting!

  • Haven't been on much because end of the year assessments are due soon. Life is going good. Nothing really exciting. I can't wait for summer vaction to start.
  • My husbands last grandparent died last night.
  • Oh, sara, I'm so sorry to hear that! I am thinking about you and your husband and your family.

  • Sara, I'm so sorry.  That's rough.  :(  It's good that he has you to lean on in difficult times like this.  I lost my grandfather in April and my husband has been a wonderful support.

Umm...does anyone have recommendations for bachelorette party stuff in Boston?  My best friend has been trying to plan her own by telling me everywhere she would like to possibly go and the party is July 26th, so I have to get it figured out.  The other bridesmaids and I are doing a conference call tomorrow to get this thing figured out.  Other than that, I'm almost done with my Master's; I just need to do my practicum.  Yay for going out and practicing to be a therapist on the unsuspecting public.

  • Thanks Joce & Jess.  It has been tough. I feel bad for him and his brothers because that was the last grandparent he had living.  We spent just about every night this past week at his grandfathers house with half of his cousins and aunts and uncles and his parents.  We were there when it happened.

Creepy thing about it was he had a dog.  The dog normally freaks out every time the front door to the house is opened and runs to see who it is and barks but insetad she layed in the bedroom by the bed for two days and wouldnt leave for anything. Eventually we had to bring her food and water into the bedroom because we were worried about her not eating. In the last few minutes before he died she was laying on the floor by the bed growling (WTF?).  About 1 minute after he died she ran out of the room and hasnt gone back in.

True story. Weirdest thing I've ever seen.
