First, my little sister (26yo) is autistic and goes to the ARC during the week. A few months ago they approched my parents asking if she could participate in a hotel & conference center training program they were working on. My parents said sure and sis did really well at it. Everyone was impressed with how the program worked and it is now something her local ARC offers to mid-high level functioning adults.
Well last night I get a call from little sis (a first in and of itself) and she told me that she got a job! She is going to be working at the local Best Western in the Housekeeping dept. ![]()
She sounded so excited last night when she told me. I think I am going to send her some flowers as a congratulations. Her having a real job is something my family never really thought would happen. I am so proud of her, I am basically telling everyone I know, lol.
Re: AW/Brag for my little sister.
Cancer sucks.
What a wonderful accomplishment for her and Kudos to the ARC!
It's nice to hear a "feel good" story every now and then.
