Vacuum cleaner recs, please!
I need a new vacuum and of course don't know which to get. We checked consumer reports and even the ones that they rank really high have bad customer reviews.
So, what kind of vacuum do you have and do you love it or hate it?
Re: Vacuum cleaner recs, please!
As a funny side note, when we were in Ireland we were at a park and used the restroom had a Dyson Hand Dryer! I swear it about ripped the skin off my hands! I just had to take a picture of it! (sorry it's so big...don't know how to resize but you get the gist.)
I mentioned the Dyson to dh and he said something about people don't like them as they have issues with the parts. But everyone I know personally that has one loved it.
Ok so if you have Dyson, how long have you had it?
I've never had issues with the parts and our dogs shed like crazy! My parents and sister also each have one and they haven't had any problems with them. We all bought them about 4 years ago.
Ours was a wedding gift--so 4 years almost. We've never had any problems with it at all. MH always does the required maintenance on it, like washing the filter, so it hasn't needed any repairs.
I think ours is a Bissel Healthy Home (sp?)
It's HEAVY, but it's sooooo nasty the stuff that comes out the carpet!
BB&B w a 20% off
Had they carried the Dyson Animal Ball in the stores and we didn't need to pay shipping and could have used the cupon, we would have got it instead.
Why wait? If you want, I can lend you a sledgehammer
.
Oh, and get a Roomba, it does the vacuuming for you with the push of a button.
I'm trying to be a good wife since I am married to el cheapo and wait until it dies but give me a couple months when Mary is eating dog hair because the vacuum doesn't pick it up. I will be ready for the sledgehammer then.
That face is scary!
I think you should show your dh that kind of face and maybe he will say go ahead and buy a new one
we are going to be needing a new?vacuum?new soon too but since we want a dyson as well we will probably wait till nov when we get the extra discount at BBB.
Lori-we use those dryers at work. Everytime I use it I just stare at the freaky way it moves my skin around?
I have the Dyson Animal from Costco- its about $50 less than in a regular store and comes with extras.
I LOVE it. I tried the one with the ball and hated it- but this one is the traditional one (with the purple colored top and accents), and I really like it. I've used it for almost a year now and have never had an issue *knock on wood* - I really love the extra attachments for cleaning stairs and the one that takes the pet hair off my micro-fiber couches!
Ditto. L-O-V-E!
Almost 5 years and we've never had any problems with it. My mom has had hers for 6 years and had 6 dogs and vacuums a 4000 square foot hard wood floor house at least once a day.
Just curious- have you guys ever heard of the "Kirby" vacuum company? A guy came by our house yesterday offering to do a carpet cleaning for free for 150 sqft- we thought they were a cleaning service so we were like heck yeah- because we're looking for someone to hire to do our carpets.
They came back with the Kirby vacuum, and did a shampoo & vacuum in our dining room and stairway and it looked AMAZING- BUT they were actually trying to sell vacuums- and they tried to sell us this one for $1600! Granted, it did an AMAZING job and was very easy to use, but seriously- $1600 for a vacuum... I'd rather have someone shampoo the carpets once a year and use my dyson the rest of the time. We were bummed they weren't a service because we would have hired them instantly.
Thats the thing about these ones- they actually sell for like $3200, but DH talked them into the "real" price, which they said was $1600--- if we had plenty of money and no bills I'd probably buy one right now--- but considering that is not the case, I think I can live without, lol
We have the Dyson ball - the compact one. ?Love it. ?Easy to manuever, picks up everything and is great on hardwood and carpet. ?Had it since Christmas. ?(Thanks mom and dad!)?
