People!

I cannot be the only one who has refreshed this page over and over this weekend!

....could I?

Re: People!

  • I just wanted to say hello.
  • I'm supposed to be grading.

Which means I have been refreshing like a mofo.

  • I hung out with my dad for over seven hours today.
  • I'm supposed to be studying which of course means I'm not
  • Well aren't we a chipper bunch!

I got my longest run in today <pat on back>, went with mboc to the dog park with our pups, got a library card!, Costco, TGIF drinks and video games, and now lazing around.

    I'm pooped.

  • i am in the process of burning all my CDs to MP3s.  it's just as thrilling as it sounds.
  • I have been laying on my ass all weekend....yes, I have refreshed this page a million times.

  • Every inch of my body aches. Apparently squating, standing, sitting, kneeling, bending, and propping yourself up while taking photos leads to a sore body. Ugh.
  • I challenge any of you to hang out with my dad.

    It is extraordinarily mentally tiring.

    Maybe our parents are related?

    no thanks.  yikes.

  • I was glad that I read most of the Sunday paper, so I could discuss everything going on.

    In the world.

    Literally.

See now, if you were me, you'd just have to watch certain Disney and/or Chipmunk movies to get up to speed on everything that my mom would want to talk about during a visit.

    lol poor WM.

  • Things are different with my mom.  Smile

Today I schooled my dad on Supreme Court nomination issues, though.  That was my one moment of brilliance.

I exaggerate.  It wasn't too bad today.  We went house hunting together.

  • I wish I could just drive and visit my mom and dad!  I get homesick when you guys talk about weekend random visits with parents.

Lol WM I can just see you know seriously discussing the SC nom.  Dork!

Ok ladies, I'm off to read my new Jenn Lancaster book from Costco!  Goodnight!

  • I'm not a dork at all.  My father quizzes me on current events every time he sees me.  If I don't study before I go, he criticizes me and makes me feel stupid.  It is rare that I know more than he does about these things.

All I've got is the law.

This is pretty much any visit with any of my ILs... Embarrassed

  • So do you read up on stuff like I do?

It is particularly difficult when it's just me and my dad.  When my brother is there, he can cover for me because he always knows the answer to everything my dad asks.

    Me too!

They like to talk about current events, but I don't get quizzed about it. They also like to fill me in on all the local gossip.

This would seriously make me never want to visit. Tongue Tied

I try but I never seem to have enough time to prepare. I almost never can weigh in on the political conflicts and such in India so I sip tea and blank stare. My problem is that in addition to the current events trivia it's a lot of literary discussions and sadly most of the books I purchase and they sit waiting to be read... I'm fortunate that my husband is nothing like this and tries to shift conversation into other directions for both of our sakes

  • Ah, so D was busy and that's why she hasn't returned a single text message for days...
  • That's like...mental gymnastics. No thanks. Fortunately my mom almost never discusses current events, and if my dad wants to, he fills in the (many) gaps for me.

I'm sad you have to go through this, too, but I kinda feel better that I'm not the only one.
