Moved our home inspection

We had our home inspection scheduled for this morning but our realtor called us last night and there was some kind of mix-up and not its next Monday the 15th. It makes me feel that we are cutting it a little close with the inspection on the 15th and closing on the 30th.

Re: Moved our home inspection

  • You should be fine, when I had my home inspection I got the final report before the inspector even left the house.  My real estate agent was there when he did the report so she faxed it to the sellers agent and asked for a few things to be fixed by a professional prior to closing.  We did a final walk through the day of closing to ensure everything was fixed prior to closing.

  • Don't worry, two weeks is plenty of time, unless there are major issues.

And if there are major issues, then they're deal-breakers, OR the owner will work his butt off to resolve them quickly, OR the price of the home will have to be adjusted.  In any case, two weeks should still be enough time to make a decision.

  • We were there for our inspection and got the report while we were there. You should be fine.

  • Like the other ladies have said you should still be ok with 2 weeks before the closing date because the seller is going to want the deal done too (I'm sure) so in most cases you would think they will do whatever necessary. Good luck!!!
  • Thanks, I'm just nervous. We really like this house so I don't want anything to go wrong and we loose it.
