Wedding Related: Anybody get married on a yacht?
Sorry, my BFF got engaged and is looking for a reception site...I know where *most* of you got married but I am appealing mostly to the lurkers or new girls...LOL Anyway, there are so many negative things about yacht weddings I just wanted to know if anybody had any good experiences...thanks!
Re: Wedding Related: Anybody get married on a yacht?
Hi Zee!
I've only had bad experiences on Yachts, but they were scheduled in the hottest of months. I don't know if that's what made everyone so irritable or not. Also, stay away from Hornblower Cruises. They are all over the place when it comes to keeping things running smoothly. I've experienced everything from failed Air Conditioning systems to a complete BLACK OUT in the middle of the harbor. Floating on a boat in the dark is no bueno. Also, if her guest list is 100 make sure she gets a yacht that can fit 125+ comfortably. Space is always a huge issue.....
Just my 2 cents.
my friend got married on one back in '01 (I was a BM) and I don't recommend. the wedding was 4 hours - ceremony was about 10 min, followed immediately by pictures, then the cake cutting, eating, a little dancing, then off the boat. it was way too rushed.
and who cuts the cake before even eating? just weird.
People who want cake cutting photos before the sun sets, I think it's lame though.
the wedding was from noon to 4pm. not an issue.
