I haven't AWed this yet...

but my amazing husband bought tickets to go to Hawaii in September last weekend! We've been talking about a trip for awhile and he's been tracking tickets and we got them for $250 each!!! INSANE!!! We're flying into Honolulu but are thinking about island hopping while we're there.

Re: I haven't AWed this yet...

  • oh, this is awesome! ?have you been to hawaii before?

i always think that o'ahu is such an underrated island. ?most folks talk about how commercialized it is, but that's mostly on the waikiki side. ?there's so much more stuff to see and do if you rent a car and explore the whole island!

i'm so jealousE. ?i love hawaii so much.?

  • totally, totally jealous!! ?
  • No, we haven't, I'M SO EXCITED!!! I'm already checking out all kinds of activities. Lost is filmed in O'ahu, so we're definitely going to geek it up and go on one of the tours. If you have any excursion recs let me know!
  • YAY! What a great deal...and a great H! Yes

  • How exciting! I'm jealous!!

I too am a fan of Oahu. My stepmom is from Honolulu, so growing up we'd go without ever going to Waikiki.

  • we loved the helicopter tour we did of maui. ?i bet o'ahu would be cool to see from the air, too.

i highly, HIGHLY recommend picking up a copy of "o'ahu revealed." ?it's excellent and gives great reviews and directions for all sorts of fun stuff all around the island. ?we found great snorkeling and beautiful hidden beaches with it.?

  • So exciting!!!!  We stayed at the Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore.  So nice!!  I got a super awesome deal on it too on travelocity....like 150.00 a night and it was around 300.00/night when we went, so keep your eye out!!
  • I don't know how touristy you want to get but there's:

    Waimea Falls Park

    Dole Plantation

    Polynesian Cultural Center

Also, my favorite beach is Bellows. There's never anyone there, definitely not familiar to the tourists. (Although its been a long time since I've been).

  • if you want to snorkel, i suggest skipping hanauma bay. ?that place is so crowded and overrated, even the fish don't go there anymore.

head over to shark's cove instead. ?it's awesome.?

Northwest. We are flying out of LAX, which I typically avoid at all costs, but small price to pay for Hawaii!

  • That is a SWEET deal to Hawaii !! Have an awesome time!!

Not yet - oddly enough, the Best Western is THE highest rated hotel in Honolulu, so we're thinking about that, and we might island-hop, so we're probably going to wait until July/August to book.?

  • don't forget to get some shave ice!
