Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Does the city need to know? Re: fence
Sorry if it's a silly question, I just didn't want to get started, and find out too late... but If we want to move our fence up (make back yard bigger) do I need to let the city know?
If so, what dept?
We dont have an HOA-- so no worries there... and it's not like we're renovating/building a ROOM, so we wouldn't need a permit, right?
It's just a simple fence expansion.... easy peasy, right?

I would just to be on the safe side - you may need a building permit. We kind of had a run in with that last year
hey, I am from the country and no one out there needs building permits!!
Call city hall they will know where to send you
Dig Tess is who you need to call before you do any fence replacement or anything. They will come out for free and mark all your lines.
Not sure about anything else.
