Who would think this is OKAY?

My friend and co-worker who knows about our infertilty struggles, and knows how long we have been trying, is pregnant with #2.  It was rough enough to deal with her announcement.  But seriously!  She showed me 2, yes 2 of her positive pee sticks.  I said rudely, the second time around, "Wow, I've never seen that before!" I hope she got the point, I am not the most straight-forward person.   But seriously wouldn't you think that would be a tad bit insensitive?

Maybe I'm being a little over-dramatic about the whole thing, but it really made me want to cry.

Okay, my vent is done.

Re: Who would think this is OKAY?

  • I am guessing she was just super excited and didn't realize how much that would hurt you. ?So sorry. ?:(

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • I've played the whole thing in my head over and over again, trying to put myself in her shoes.  I'm sure she was super excited.  It was a bit much for my emotions today :(

  • I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. I can kind of understand where you are coming from.  I didn't even show my DH the pregnancy tests I took.

I imagine things really suck right now but I have a feeling you will be getting your turn real soon.

  • Infertile..... excited....

    Either way.... EWWWW!!!!!

You shouldn't be "flashing" your pee sticks around! GROSSS!!!

    (Sorry about it, either way)

  • I'm very sorry you had to deal with this today : (
  • I think it is insensitive because she knows of your struggles. I don't know how close you are to her, but I didn't feel the need to show off my pee stick to anyone other than DH.
  • I'm sorry to hear you had to deal with. I am sure that was hard!

    ((hugs))

I agree with Kim, hopefully that was it.  It sucks though that she forgot to be sensitive to you.

  • I have to agree...who cares how excited you are...why would you show your pee stick (let alone 2) to a co-worker? That is the oddest thing I've ever heard.
  • Oh that sucks. She was probably just excited, and probably didn't realize how much it would hurt. But I totally understand why you would be upset.

It is a little weird/gross to show off the pee sticks.
