We don't own our home, but we have these little magnetic alarm thingies on the windoews and dorrs that make me feel better. They're crazy loud. I want to get something when we finally buy a house.
My SIL has ADT and they seem happy with it.

I was just telling DH last night I felt safe (he's pay call firefighter so he's gone over night ) that our male dog was asleep on the living room floor and he must of heard the neighbors cuz he started growling in his sleep and then woke up and ran to the kitchen window barking
Becki I was thinking of getting those magnetic things for our windows I need to look into it
Funny thing is that we have two little "yippie" dogs (min pins- who think they are dobermans) and they are really great at letting us know when someone is at the door, outside, or they hear anything funny.
Too bad they would just give a robber a good laugh once they got in the door! LOL!! Not scary at all!! But when we are home it's another 2 sets of ears.
We use the sign in the yard that say "protected by ADT"
We don't pay for the alarm service but it's there. I just keep the door/window chimes on.
