"Big Ups" to Verizon

The kinds of cell phones we have wouldn't work for our trip, so I got a loaner phone sent by Verizon.

It got here super quick,  it's packaged very nicely, and it's actually a nice phone and not some clunky thing. It's clean and not grubby like someone else had thier mitts on it. AND they included a charger for the UK. Everything we need is right there, ready to go. I just need to call and activate it and put program the numbers I need.

Huh.

I'm shocked something was easy to do with a big monopoly company. Who woulda thought?

Re: "Big Ups" to Verizon

  • did they charge you for it?
  • Or perhaps more appropriately, did they charge you correctly for it?

    Stick out tongue

  • I laughed at the charging correctly post! When DH and I got a plan together it took us months to get the charges right. I do have to say that their customer service was great when we had to call to deal with it, but it was annoying until it was fixed.

?Enough about me though.....that's awesome that you got a nice phone! :)?

  • My friend's parents did the same thing through Verizon when we went to Paris last year and for the most part they had pretty good luck with their loaner phone/plan.  I know there were some issues when my friend tried to call them once or twice but for the most part we were able to reach them easily (my friend and I both have AT&T and we had quad band phones so we just got international calling plans).

  • just in case millersxing doesn't check back in, I believe she said in an earlier post that the loaner was free and she just had to pay for shipping.
  • I've heard horror stories about Verizon, but so far so good *knock on wood*. And even when they have been wrong or no help they've been terribly polite about it which makes it very hard to ream them out. Stick out tongue

I quickly read the directions and I need to activate the phone to be used with my number so I don't put the battery in and charge it until I've called them to turn it on. ???? Oh the mystery of the cell phone! But if all I have to do is make a phone call and pop a battery in, fine by me.

The shipping was the only thing I needed to pay for, and the box has a return lable ready to send back which is pretty easy.
