I think I will be known as the mean lady

So I was in the backyard with David and all of a sudden I see this old tree branch leaning against the other side of our fence.  I then hear three pre-teen boys talking about making a fort.  In my head I start thinking, Oh crap, DH and the dog are going to hate this.  0.5 seconds later the dog goes nuts jumping against the fence.  The boys leave like 5 minutes later to look for more wood.   I make sure they are out of view and I dismantle their "fort".

Please note their fort consists of three large sticks stacked against my fence.  They come back and are like what the hell?!?  They proceed to put their fort back together and start talking how this is the toliet and this is the sink.  I'm laughing to myself because it is seriously 2 feet wide and made of three large sticks.  Anywho, the dog is going nuts jumping against the fence and digging into the ground.

I'm sad to report that when they leave for the night, their fort, along with the pop cans they are leaving all over will be taken away.    I really don't want to be mean but they are still on our property and part of the parks.  I normally wouldn't mind but when my dog is going nuts and digging deep holes in the yard, I have to do something about it.

Re: I think I will be known as the mean lady

  • Nah... THAT is a perfect reason to be known as the mean lady. LOL

I think I was for the longest time because we found chewed bubble gum RIGHT in front of our doorstep.  Like where we take Xena out to pee in the mornings.  (There are 2-3 young teen boys that cut through our yard on their way home from school.)

Although I think I bordered crazy lady, not mean because I - NO SH!T - chased one of the teens down the street one day to tell him NOT to leave his gum and to tell his friends because if my dog grabs it and eats it before I see, it could seriously harm her.

Hmm... come to think of it... they no longer cut through our yard. Wink  Dismantle it and leave a note, Melanie.  Something like "This is the Park's Warden.  Forts & loitering are not prohibited."

  • Nothing wrong with that.  I'd do the same thing especially if my dogs were digging holes in the yard.  At our old house we had these kids that kept cutting through our yard and I yelled at them to stop and they never came back.  Then at our current house we live on a dead end road that is literally 100 yards maybe and this idiot teenager that was dating the girl down the street would literally go as fast as he could on the road and his truck was so loud.  One night MH went out the front door and chased the guy down and told him he better slow down or he'd call the cops.  Our road is really narrow and he was afraid he would hit our boat that's parked at the bottom of our driveway.

I think this officially makes me a b!tch: I would've just called the cops and not even warned the guy. LOL
