Another question about Freezer meals

Thanks ladies for all of your recipes, I ended up making the lasagna, because it is a fav of mine and I haven't had it for ages, but I have copy and pasted all of the recipes so that I make up a bunch before #2 arrives.

I am so unskilled when it comes to freezing meals, do I need to bake the lasagna or can I just assemble it for them to place in the freezer?  Also I bought a bunch a aluminum dishes, so that they didn't need to worry about return the dishes to me, I am still thinking of putting them in a freeze bag as well, is that correct?

Thanks again lovelies!

Proud Mama to two sweet kiddos.

Re: Another question about Freezer meals

  • I cooked my lasagne when I froze it....I think you can do either....

I would definitely cover them with something like a freezer bag.

I prefer to freeze it unbaked.  I usually take it out that morning or the night before to thaw and then bake.

And I would usually cover with foil and then put in a ziplock if it fits or wrap tightly with saran.

  • For me it totally depends on what I am making as to if I make it then freeze it or freeze it uncooked. For something like lasanga I would freeze it uncooked (but with cooked noodles).
