People with white gold rings come in!
Do you get them re-dipped in rhodium? The jeweler who made mine (cousin) used to do it for free, but now I have moved out of town and need to get it done again. I stopped by a store yesterday and they wanted $30 per ring. I thought that was kind of high, I dunno? Do you pay to have it done....and if so, how much?
TIA!
Re: People with white gold rings come in!
I haven't had mine dipped, but that sounds about right. I have engraving on the inside so I'm not sure if I get it dipped if I lose the engraving?
Nope, it will still be there. You should get it done. You won't believe how amazing and sparkly your rings look!
Awesome! I'm going to take it in to our jeweler when we are in Montreal again. I have had them cleaned and polished, but I can't wait to see what it looks after getting it dipped.
Ditto...I didn't know I was supposed to be doing this.
Mom, why are you washing my feed in the sink?!
Basically your rings start to turn "yellowish/gold", usually you can see it most where they rub together. You probably don't really notice it until you see one that is not yellowish. You can have it re-dipped in rhodium which re-coats it and makes it silvery again.
Interesting. I might have to look into this some more.
I've had mine done once, and it was for free the first time....they told me next time it will be about $35...I think that's sort of the standard.
