She's just a plain old b!tch. I'm sorry, but if my kid was sitting there on the verge of tears for some water I'd let her have some. It's not like she was whining for a new toy or for some candy. She was thirsty. Though, I don't know what it would be like to have all those kids and I know that generally, if one kid gets something, then the others want it, too...but so what if the kids were drinking some water during the interview? I don't know...she's just cold hearted. At least that's my opinion.

Wanted to also say that I also think the media likes to portray her as the cold hearted mom, though. So I don't think she gets much help in that department.
I have always thought she was mean and scary. If a child was asking me for a drink of water of course I would give them some. She needs to take her children off of TV and get out of the limelight.
Of course while I get a kick out of shows like the Real Housewives etc... I think Kate has exploited her children in a sense and they need to at least spend some of their childhood away from the cameras
Although I once saw an interview with the Girls Next Door and it turned out for their entire season they only had film crew with them for 16 full days in the entire year. I don't know if the Jon & Kate season is longer or if theirs works differently, but I have seen episodes where for the entire episode all they do is go to the amusement park - so really that's just one day of filming, right?
Although being in the public spotlight is a whole other issue, I don't know if the kids are really being worked hard like they've been saying on the news.
Honestly I think she is made out to be a lot worse than she really is. I see a stressed out mom who (while yes it is by choice) is dealing with a lot of publicity. Mady, the one who asks for water, is notoriously whiney and at almost 9 years old I would probably refuse to give my child water if they whined like that too especially knowing that by giving one child water the other 7 were probably going to ask for it too. Now I don't like that she got herself some water.
On the filming stuff, they have said on some of the shows where viewers ask questions, that the used to film 2 or 3 days a week during normal stuff and now they tend to film just for big stuff (you rarely see a show where they are just at home all day). And they have said that the kids are free to ask not to be filmed, which it is evident that Mady and Cara are opting for that more now as they are getting older.
It sounds like I am defending her, which I'm not, I don't agree with everything she does. But at the same time no one else if there all the time to see what she is dealing with (8 kids with 6 of them 5?! I would go nuts!) so I don't think it is fair for anyone to judge her or her parenting or marriage.

Me too. Also when people say she brought this on herself, it is a reality show on TLC. No one could have guessed the show would be so big, no other show on TLC gets anywhere near this much attention. I refuse to buy a magazine with her and the kids on it. It's really sad how much paparazzi follows around the kids.
