Tacky wedding invite

We just received a wedding invite for a friend of DH. Along the invite and RSVP card was a little slip of paper that said, " Bride and Groom are registered at Target but cash gifts are very much appreciated."

I can't believe people actually do that! I told DH is makes me not want to buy them a gift (even though I will). I just thought it was really, really tacky when I saw it.

Re: Tacky wedding invite

  • I also got one recently kind of similar to that - I agree it is tacky!
  • You might want to post this on the knot.  I have a feeling some girls wouldn't see anything wrong with that at all...  I've gotten gift registry cards in invitations, but never "cash gifts are much appreciated".
  • ooooooo girl - you need to smack that tacky ho around!
  • Mentioning registry info is only appropriate in a shower invite, never in the wedding invite, regardless if they are begging for cash or gifts. Tackee!

  • You ladies would faint if you saw the one I got....It looks like a 2 year old wrote it with a crayon, had the BB&B registry card and then a little slip of paper that says they want gift cards to Home Depot or Lowes.
  • wow
