How did the shower go yesterday? What games did you play? Did everyone have a good time?

Re: *MN4L*

  • yeah it went really well!!! just a couple hitches!

My friends that were going to help out only got there half an hour ahead, so we were running late on slicing the fruit & veggies, and then the guest of honour, her two sisters and her Mom arrived 20 minutes early!!! There were only 10 of us total so basically 7 of us were already there by 10:40 Tongue Tied but once everything was ready at about 11:05am things went great Smile

The only other "hitch" is one of our neighbours started trimming their hedge just after eating, and I went to check and she had hired a landscaper and they were ONLY trimming the hedge so he just had to finish up quickly and go. It wasn't too annoying though, but kind of too bad because I had arranged with our other neighbour to not do construction during the shower, but what are the chances our 71 year old neighbour would hire someone during that precise time on a Sunday, LOL!!

The food turned out great, my pregnant friend is not really into games so I decided just to do 1 because it's funny, the one where you guess the size of the belly with a garland, anyways it was hilarious because everyone was 1-2 feet in length over estimating!

It was just 10 people and we all fit around my patio table (which I am VERY happy about) so it was great because we had good conversation and it went very well :) and the weather was awesome, I couldn't have asked for better weather. There were only 10 invited so it was awesome that everyone could make it, people are the important part!!

Everyone enjoyed the cupcakes too, and I sent my friend home with a 4-pack ;)

She had a tear in her eye when she thanked me so I think that's a good sign!!!

    Thanks for asking!!!

  • Sounds like a great day! I'm glad it was a success. It was gorgeous out yesterday - so nice for an outdoor event.
  • Oh and I told everyone about the melted chocolate bar in a diaper game and the look on some people's faces were PRICELESS!!!!! but I'm so glad I didn't do it, just thinking of it makes my stomach turn HAHAHA!!!!!

Nope, no leftovers! I actually had some fancy cupcake packages (weird gift from my aunt a few years ago, thought I would never use them HAHA). They hold 4, so I thought I would give one to the guest of honour. I taste-tested one ahead of time to make sure they were not horrible, and also I saved 2 for DH! The rest were eaten during the party!!
