Photo Classes

We recently bought a Cannon Rebel and I wanted to take some classes on how to use it. Currently I just leave it on the auto settings. I thought about going to UNT but is there anythign else out there? I did a google but didn't find much.

Re: Photo Classes

  • You might try looking at the community colleges in your area. They usually have some continuing education courses in photography.

  • how much do you want to spend?
  • I know some of the camera stores like Wolf Camera have them...or at least they used to.

  • Do you like this camera?  I'm thinking of purchasing one and have great reviews.  Did you get the 10 or 12 mp?

You might also try NWISD adult teaching.  I saw that they had a class this last spring and I think it was maybe 2 nights and like $150 or something (sorry I can't remember the specifics).  You can just go to NWIDS and click on the adult program.

  • We bought our Nikon at Wolf and they offered us free classes.

DH went to the Art Institute of Dallas (for video production/film making).  But I only suggest it if you feel like dropping some serious cash. Stick out tongue

  • Yea I thought about Art institute but didn't want to spend that much. I will try wolf camera.

I really like the camera i think we got the 10 pixel. It was a package from best buy, we got the camera, two lense, extra battery for like $800 i think.

  • Ditto the pp about camera stores. I know Arlington Camera has a class. They gave me a free "pass" for one when I upgraded my camera, but I have yet to go. I've heard they're good, but can't say for myself! I hope to sign up for one of the ones this summer just for kicks.
  • TCU has some CE classes during the summer.  I learned the same information and more from just reading the user manual....boring, but tells you exactly what you need to do.
