Ok, my bro is getting married in Nov. of this year in Florida (where he lives). He was in my wedding last year and him and his Fiancee gave us a gift of $400. I am not in their wedding. Do I have to give back what he gave me? He lived here when I got married so he had no travel expense. Both DH and I are going and it will be at least $1000 for the trip down there alone. What do you think? How much would you give if not $400?
P.S. I'm not super close with him and his Fiancee.
TIA...
Re: Need some advice...
Love the new ticker, madam!
I have no advice on this, as I think it's a cultural thing because I think DH and I got $400 in total as gifts from our wedding. LOL So for me that is a huge amount. I would never imagine giving that much as a wedding gift, which brings me back to the cultural thing. So I hope the ladies on here can guide you.
Nice hanging with you on Sunday. You are so much fun!

Amy you are soooo right...my presence should be enough! I mean anyone is lucky to have me as a guest at their wedding. lol Just kidding No, but seriously...that's what DH said like $200. I think that should be more than enough.
Thanks for the compliment on the ticker. Do you think we'll ever get sick of going to DW? I don't think so. hehe
As for the wedding...it's soooo different everywhere else than NY. Us NYer's are all about the cash. Down south and elsewhere they are into giving gifts. Then again, NYer's are probably the only ones that spend an average of $30,000 for one frigg'n day. =/
It was wonderful see you as well. I always look forward to hanging out with my friend Lawby.
Absolutely not. Your bro has to take into account your travel expenses. Plus, you probably have to buy a dress and shoes, maybe get your hair done?
