These 5 AM wake up calls have got to stop!
How do I get a 2 y/o to understand that 5 AM is waaaaaay too early for poor mommy?!?!
Re: These 5 AM wake up calls have got to stop!
ouch.
I have no idea. I know CMB's daughter is an early riser too, and she's just as frustrated.
I have no tips - D is all over the place as far as when she chooses to wake up.
oh no! Sorry I can't help much with tips.
Are you at least getting some sleep up until 5am? Would it help to change the bedtime? Apparently, the earlier the bedtime the later they wake up - something about sleep begets sleep. It seems to work for some. Not for us though. It may be worth a try.
I have no tip for you because Alex is a 5am-5:30am riser as well (but usually closer to 5am). At that point, I bring him to our bed, and sometimes he falls back asleep for 30 min or so. Than he starts pulling my hair, climbing on me, rolling all over the place, shaking me as if he wanted to say "wake up mommy". LOL.
I have no suggestions. I did try Dr. Ferber's suggestion for an early riser, which is to shift the child's sleep phase. It involves shifting everything a bit later, naps, meals, bath and bedtime, but it backfired on us and Alex was waking even earlier. But I have heard this technique work for others on the 12-24 board.
Good luck!
