HELP!!!!! New to Town Guest - Where to take him?

My Mom approached my DH and I asked if we would be interested in showing a 25yr old boy around the Dallas area on Friday and/or Saturday. We have never met this kid. He is from Syracuse and his father attends church with my Mom.

Where are some places you would take someone who is potenitally interested in making the move from NY to TX?

Re: HELP!!!!! New to Town Guest - Where to take him?

  • I think it would be neat to take him around the downtown Dallas area and even the Grapevine/Las Colinas area as well.  Arlington might be a good idea, too-since there is the Ranger stadium and the new Cowboys stadium.
  • I agree with downtown Dallas area if not just for the history and also the new Cowboys stadium.  However, if I'm a 25 year old guy thinking about making a move to Dallas from NY of all places I want to know where are the cool places to hang out are, night life, etc.  I'd be interested in the Uptown and West Village area and even Addison, maybe you can go to lunch around that area, go to the American Airlines area too?

FYI - Arlington may be crowded in the stadium area due to the Jonas Brothers concert on Saturday. If you wanted to be in the area, you might have to check on traffic flow and street closings.

  • lol, also the screaching of those young girls might keep you away also! I say Victory Park would be fun, or the Uptown area. I am a Ft. Worth gal, so I don't go into Dallas that much.

Haha!  I didn't even think about the Jonas Brothers!  I agree also that Addison and Uptown/Victory Park would be a great place to take him as well since he's 25.

I only know this because I have tickets [hangs head in shame]. I'm taking my friend for her 27th birthday. We'll likely be the only married ladies there with no kids.

  • Hey it's ok :)  I'm totally going with my sister and her best friend to see New Kids on the Block in July (and I already saw them in November the last time they were here)  Have fun!  I hate to admit it, but the songs I've heard are catchy, I can't deny that.
  • Thanks ladies. I see enough of downtown Dallas during the week... last thing I want to do is spend one of my days off here. LOL!

We've decided on taking him to Sundance Square - we'll either have a bite to eat or drink at Flying Saucer or 8.0 and then afterwards we plan on seeing the 10pm show of Four Day Weekend.
