OB/GYN Rec needed in Plano

I need a new OB/GYN in Plano, preferably associated with Presby Plano. I have been looking at either Jill Farmar or Katrina Lee. If anyone knows anything about those two doctors, or has any other recomendations I would really appreciate it!! :)

Re: OB/GYN Rec needed in Plano

  • I've been to Jill Farmar before and I really liked her.  I did have to wait 2 hours (not exaggerating, I was pretty ticked) to see her, but I don't know if that was just a bad day at the office or something.  When I went to see her she was not doing OB anymore so I had to switch - don't know if that is still true or if you will need that.  I currently go to Dr. Jennifer Campbell and really like her and the office - Northlake OB/GYN.
  • I used to go to the Northlake OB/GYN group at Medical City Dallas. LOVED them all. Now we live way far from there, so I'm going to be seeing one of the doctors on the Presby Plano Northlake group.
  • Northlake OB/GYN all the way!!  I (and my husband) love Dr. Garner (male), but have also heard good things about Dr. Campbell (female).

Their office is in Plano Presby and the # is (972) 981-7711.

  • Woohoo!

Erin, I'm glad you mentioned another doc in the group that you love. I keep hearing wonderful-wonderful-wonderful things about Dr. Campbell, but I also hear she's is hard to get in with when you're a first time patient. So I'm not sure which doc I'll end up seeing since this next time will be my first time at the Plano office. My SIL sees Dr. Jennifer Denning w/ their group. She said she's really nice, but kind of the more "down to business" type.

  • I have heard the same about Dr. Denning - good, but businesslike.

I'm not sure how hard it is to get in with Dr. Garner, but if you do see him, you have to let me know what you think.  There are at least 3 girls on the Nest and 1 girl on the Bump who go to him and we all love him.

  • I posted this on the other rec... but this is probably a better place for it.  He is with Presby Plano... doesn't have an office in the actual hospital - he is in a smaller building right next to it.  Parking is awesome.

I love my dr.  I haven't had a baby (yet) so I don't know the OB part... but he is amazing on the GYN part!!  His staff is awesome, and he is super friendly.  (and patient when I freak out about stuff I don't need to freak out about)...Dr. Berry A Fleming, 3801 Midway Rd, Plano TX... 972-473-2020AND the movie dr t and the women was based on him.  seriously - he has photos of richard gere and the other cast members in the office.  way cool.

    HTH! :-)

Another Dr. G. lover here :)

He's also the first male OB/GYN I'd been to in at least 15+ years, and I wasn't overjoyed about going to a guy, but I trusted Erin's rec and I'm very glad I did.  I think he's pretty fab.

  • I recommend Melinda Spooner, and when I googled her it said she was affiliated with the Presbyterian hospital too.  Her office is located just outside of the Plano Medical Center (Coit & 15th).  I've been going to her for 4 years or so and I really like her.  I haven't really had any issues with wait time and I would say she's more down to business as well, unless you start asking her questions and then she really takes her time with you.

  • Another rec for Dr. Garner.  LOVE him!  Erin and Chris were who told me about him and I've since run into quite a few others who use him and everyone loves him.  I did overhear that he wasn't taking new patients, but that was in February, so he may be taking new ones now.
  • I really like my Dr. Dr. Traci Nivens. Never had to wait long. She is at Plano Presby.
  • I go to Plano Women's Healthcare but it is associated with Medical Center of Plano. I see Dr. Lisa Umholtz but I have heard good things about all of the doctors there.

  • Another rec for Dr. Garner with Northlake OB Gyn.  I switched over to him after my previous doctor retired.  It was easy to switch over since I was already a patient with the practice.  If you can't in with Dr. Garner, Dr. Ku is new to the practice and is accepting new patients.  She checked in on me while I was in the hospital and was really nice.

I used to go to Umholtz, but I was tired of waiting 30 minutes (or longer) to see her. Does she still have that problem?
