Ok, in an effort to keep myself from running out and buying New Moon after I finished Twilight, I am re-reading Twilight and just finished the 12 chapters of Midnight Sun. (yeah, yeah...I hear all you FB'ers who said I couldn't stay away laughing at me now...but at least reading Midnight Sun on the computer forced me to actually stop reading for intervals
)
So, I have to say that I liked Midnight Sun so much better, if that's possible. There is so much more going on from Edward's perspective, because he's the one with the crazy internal struggle going on. AND he's the one who can read minds, so you not only get his perspective, but everyone else's too.
I love the way Stephenie Meyer describes his feelings about touching Bella, and wanting to touch her. I wish she would have written up to the part where they first kiss, I would love to hear what was going on in Edward's mind at that point!
Has the author said if she'll ever be finishing that book? Or is she still taking a "maybe, maybe not" stance?
Re: Twilight v. Midnight Sun
I haven't read any of them (I know I'm so out of the loop) - but I read an article that she might not be finishing that one because of the original internet leak. and it upset her so she just put what she written up online and has no plans to finish it.
hmmmm....
Yeah, that's what it says on her website. She's not in the right "frame of mind" to finish the book. But it's SO GOOD, she has to!
I think I am about to cave an order New Moon riiiiiiigght now..... :-)
ya know, I was gonna ask how you were doing with this...
I never read MS and really don't have much desire to. I think the fanaticism abou the books is what really turned me off. People make it seem like the Twilight series is God's gift to the world, when even Stephenie Meyer admitted that her writing isn't that great.
I am glad you're enjoying them though.
Just out of curiousity, did you read the Harry Potter books?

I loved Midnight Sun, I loved the Twilight series, I guess I would be one of those fanatics that Nova is talking about...which is ironic cause she bought me Twilight and New Moon for Christmas.....
I think I liked Midnight Sun a little more than Twilight, basically cause it Edward and I love me some Edward.
Eclipse was my favorite, I think...I would recommend buy the rest of the books at once. I seriously went through withdrawal when I finished New Moon and didn't have Eclipse yet.
Another good series that I like is Wicked Lovely, Ink Exchange and Fragile Eternity...I recommend them.
I also really liked The Host by Stephanie Meyer.
