refinishing hardwood floors
Has anyone had this done? I know cost can vary based on different things, but I'm just trying to get an idea of how costly it is. Basically the original hardwood floor is currently underneath the carpet the owner laid recently...I dont know if that matters, but its all I know at this point!
Re: refinishing hardwood floors
Just in case, you decide to try to DIY, here's the page I found on it:

I agree with Mariah (shocking!), if you are DIYers at all, you could easily do this - make sure you get all the staples/nails up from the carpet. Make sure your floors are in good shape. If they are real hardwood, you are probably on pier & beam - just need to make sure the subfloor is in good shape.
Our floors were re-finished before we bought our house & the previous owner said it cost them around $7K with prep, sanding/staining/sealing & clean up.
