What do you ladies think of tonight's stuff?
Re: SYTYCD
I missed it! But I have it taped so I can watch it tonight. I hate watching it late though!
We went and saw The Hangover last night and it was seriously the funniest movie I have ever seen. Ever.
I agree, guys! I just didn't have anything that really stuck out in my mind.
I do have to say I was pleasantly surprised by that Waltz. Usually, if you pull the "waltz" card, you're screwed b/c it's usually not a favourite.
They rocked that. Even DH said they were beautiful. That's a statement.
Another surprise was that jazz duet with Ade and Iforgethername. They are both amazingly strong dancers, very powerful, but the choreography was VERY weird. Not like I was surprised, her choreography is always weird, but I wouldn't have classified that as "jazz."
DH was like "this is jazz?" and I said "not in my world."
I thought it was more modern than anything. Still cool though.
Both the hip hops were disappointing. The shadow dance was a cool concept, but in general, the dancers didn't deliver Shane's style the way I've seen in the past. That's disappointing for Shane.
I couldn't agree more about the Melissa and Ade's routine. It was good but not jazz in my mind.
I thought that the waltz choreographer did a great job of picking up on their strengths and hiding the lack of technique.
I liked the jive but it was forgettable and the two hip hop routines were very, very disappointing . They could have done so much more with them.
I loved the comment for the tango pair where they told the guy not to let the strain show in his face when he is doing a lift. The playback was priceless.
I loved Brian Freidman's choreography with Max and Kayla. That routine was awesome. Of course Kayla is an amazing dancer, but I think Max is holding his own. Her Grandpa is just the cutest too - makes me tear up everytime he does.
I also loved the contemporary routine choreographed by the Canadian choreographer - everyone's names are slipping my mind! That was danced beautifully and the choreography was amazing.
I thought it was an ok week - Mary really cracks me up!
Agreed - it didn't feel as "high energy" as other shows have in the past.
I did enjoy the routines by Melissa & Ade and Max & Kayla. Was also disappointed with the hip hop routines.
I'm really curious to see how the results turn out tonight!
