Cable - might turn it back on
DH and I were talking about this last night, and we feel like sure, we spend more time together and do other things together more during the weeknights, but that translates into spending a hell of a lot more money too. Instead of eating out once, maybe twice during the workweek, it's been more like 2 or 3 times. Even on Sunday nights.
Plus, I miss tv (Real Housewives, Jon and Kate I have totally missed out on, Lifetime, Football for him, etc).
WDYT?
Maybe we'll turn it back on in the fall or something. But I just don't think this no-cable thing is for us.
Thought I'd share.
Re: Cable - might turn it back on
it's about freaking time.
I don't miss it much, just every now and then. It was what I would do while DH made dinner. Or when I can't sleep at night.
I'm on the computer much more now too.
Bah.
I'm about to swtich to direct TV better deals and more channels. Honestly D- I enjoy my cable TV. It's nice to sit on the couch together once in a while and enjoy Mythbusters with the hubs and House.
However if this will be more of a deviding thing- like you'll be in one room watching your stories and he'll be in another watching football then I say pass.
You know what to do.

We used to just eat at home, leftovers or something he'd cook, and then watch tv afterwards. Well, he'd watch and I'd read or roll around with the dogs.
Now, we're antsy after eating. So instead of eating at home, we go out and eat and drink instead.
So expensive.
Of course this is all because I just looked at my bank and cc statement for June. Scary.
I am surprised you lasted this long. I do admit, my H and I watch a lot of TV. But we watch almost all the same shows, together, and I never feel like our relationship suffers because of it. TV is good!
H and I watch a lot of tv and a lot of the same shows. It actually brings us together. :-) I say turn the cable back on my friend.
This!
DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!
This is a critical deciding factor, folks.
I lived with out cable for a couple of years. I found that I was bored...a lot. I found myself going to my parents' just to watch cable, sometimes. Lame.
I grew up without cable, I have no clue how I handled it. I remember watching Baywatch just because there was nothing else on tv.
When I moved into the dorms in college, we had cable. I've had cable ever since.
Turn it back on already!
