i've had headaches regularly since i was young and it may be stress but we'll see . . . my bff has already given me the heads up that the answer i might get is hormones or something equally vague. i guess i'll find out . . . no matter what, i want medication that makes them GO AWAY!!!?
The one I used to see is in Brooklyn, but she was awesome. She got rid of my headaches.?
Dr. Esther ?Baldinger
8118 21st Avenue, brooklyn, ny
718-232-1570?
One thing the neurologist is going to have you do after your first appt is to cut out caffeine, nitrates & chocolate for a couple of weeks. So you might wanna get a head start on that.
So nothing containing caffeine (you'd be surprised what does contain it), no chocolate and no deli meats, hot dogs, or anything else with nitrates. A lot of processed foods have nitrates.
I'd also start to keep a journal of what your doing in detail when the headaches start. Like where you are, what you were doing (walking, reading, etc), what you ate and drank within 30 minutes, whether it's hot or cold, air conditioned or not, etc. That will help the neurologist determine if there a physical cause for the headaches.?
HTH and that you feel better soon. ?
thanks again ladies! tova - i have an appointment with dr. shick on 7/1, crazy - i will start writing things down now but if they tell me i have to cut out caffeine i may die . . . (i have one latte a day but i definitely need it to keep me from snapping on people in the morning)?
I have a neuro in FH that I don't really like but I do see a chiropractor & physical therapist here in FH that I love. They also have a accupuncturist on staff. If you need the info let me know.
I see them for my back, but they have helped me with a few migraines and they know tons of docs in the area.
Lum is good. I saw him once on a Saturday and he took good care of me. The chiro I see told me about him.
I hope you feel better soon!
