iphone users

Do you have problems with your iphone dropping calls?  I've had mine for a couple of months and it is so aggravating!  I can't talk for more than 20 minutes most of the time without the call failing.  I'm not sure if it's the service or the phone itself but I'm thinking it's the phone because I wasn't having this problem before I got it.

Just wondering if others have this problem.  If so, have you found something to correct it? TIA!

Re: iphone users

  • No, I haven't experience dropped calls with the exception of the areas that I always had dropped calls on my previous cell phones. Truly, I haven't really experienced any problems with my iPhone and for me, it has been more reliable and functional than any of the other cell phones I have had.
  • No real problems for me.  The certain areas of the Tollway and/or 75 where my other phones have religiously dropped calls in the past sometimes don't even drop the call now.
  • Yes - that stupid thing drops calls ALL the freaking time and it is driving me insane

The worst part is around Grapevine - and I can't seem to talk for more than 20-25 minutes before the call drops

I call and complain to AT&T all the time

This. There are several spots on GBTP, Las Colinas and my home in Coppell where I lose calls, but every phone I've ever had did it, too.

  • All.The.Time. I've done all the updates and even had the AT&T ppl check it out. I've been with AT&T for years and never had a problem with dropped calls before. It just sucks. I really do hate the iPhone, but it cost so friggin much I can't make myself get rid of it yet. I feel like i need to get my money's worth to make myself feel better about it first. I feel your pain though!
  • I don't find it to be an iPhone problem, it's an AT&T problem. My brother and I were discussing dropped calls yesterday. He said he averages 5 dropped calls a day sometimes, and he has a BlackJack, not an iphone. My mother's phone also drops calls a lot. I've only had a few dropped calls on my phone in the last 6 months.

I've had absolutely no problems with my iPhone.

  • This is exactly how I feel!  I've only had it a few months and have already had to take it to the Apple store to be fixed.  If I hadn't paid to damn much for it I would be shopping for a new one.  I've had problems with other phones dropping calls but prior to this I had a Blackberry and it wasn't an issue.  When I got this phone, I was debating between it and the new Blackberry.  I made the wrong choice. :(

  • I've not had very many -- in fact I get better reception in my house now than I did with my old blackberry -- both AT&T.  I get 3-4 bars at home, but somehow Jamie's iPhone only gets 1 bar and sometimes none?

  • Yes, I get dropped called ALL THE TIME now that I have an iPhone.  I've been with AT&T (Cingular, SWB, etc) since 1995 and I never had this problem before.  It's so annoying.  It even dropped a call this morning WHILE I WAS TALKING TO AT&T.

You'd think this would be an AT&T problem, but I never had this problem before, so I can only conclude that it's the iPhone.  ???

  • Me too. All the time. DH too. Drives us nuts, but since I don't talk on the phone all that much I feel the benefits of the internet, mail and all the apps outweigh the occasional annoyance of the dropped call. I agree it's an iPhone problem - I've been with Houston Cellular > Cingular > AT&T for almost 10 years and have never had this issue before.
