So I was having a conversation with one of my BFF's about this and I thought I'd ask you gals and see if we notice a trend here.
The discussion was about how women when oh--the mid 20's and early 30's turn into crazed sex maniacs while the men well, not that they lose interest or anything - instead tend to simmer down a bit from their ferocious want it all the damn time ways. My friend was arguing that this brings us back to our evolutionary roots of survival of the fittest. Carrying on the blood lines- women's need to procreate around our age. I thought it was interesting! Do you think this is true?
The questions:
1. Married or single
2. Who's more into boom boom time? H or you? Was it ever the other way around?
3. How old are you?
4. Do you have kids?
Re: Poll: not for the prudes. lol
Yes, I'll answer my own damn poll
1. Married
2. I am. Yes, it was the other way around at some point.
3. How old are you? going to be 28 this year.
4. Do you have kids? no.
1. I'm not married
2. With XH, me. With SO, still me.
3. In my twenties, TYVM
4. No
Partner's ages affect this discussion, too. Mine are in their 30s.
Oh yea that's true. H is in his late 20's also.
I just thought it was interesting! We have this stereotype that men regardless of age always are hot and heavy for it and women are disinterested! When it seems like it might actually be the other way around for ladies in our age bracket.
Evolutionary fail dude. Not fair.
1. Married or single Married
2. Who's more into boom boom time? H or you? Was it ever the other way around? Him, we were equal when we first started dating.
3. How old are you? 27
4. Do you have kids? Nope
I don't think it has a whole lot to do with evolution. It has to do with the fact that men's testosterone levels drop as they age. It's also proven that married men have significantly lower testosterone levels than unmarried men.
I've always known the opposite (that women peak later and longer) to be true so I'm actually surprised to read that it is not what everyone believes.
How do you (or your BFF) think kids change it?
Honestly I don't know. My bff seems to think that the body knows it's procreated and tends to simmer also when there are kids involved and men and women once again are on even playing frields so to speak.I countered that it could be that women just get too damn tired to continue the prowl.
This whole thing stemmed from some stupid article I have (printed other wise I'd link) that says that the longer women wait to have kids the more uneven the boom boom playing field becomes.
I don't know if I agree- thus the poll. When she read it- she said "That makes sense."
