Ugh...I shouldn't have answered the phone

to talk to my mother....I'm now all upset with her!

Here's the back story...my dad wanted to take Ru to the zoo in TO, however we've already given my ILs the option as we will be in TO with them at the end of Aug for a family get together.  They weren't all that gung ho (which adds fuel to the fire), but we'll see!

So...this evening on the phone, my mom springs her brilliant plan on me.  Apparently there's a 'run' at the zoo in the fall.  My mother thought that we should all drive down there, do the run, then come home...all in two days.  Then, because that plan wasn't great enough, she also thought that we should invite my bro & SIL, and we should all bring our dogs (we have 5 between the 3 couples).  Now, I know you're all thinking...sheesh, I wish I could join them!!  When I told my mom that I didn't think we would be up for that, she got mad and told me that I had to get used to traveling with Ru....um...we do, we are driving to Maine in August to spend a week on the beach...with my parents.  The woman really does live in her own World.

This is just a reminder NOT to answer the phone during Cornation Street =)

  • Indifferent Wow, I would like a trip and visit the fantasy land that your mother lives in!! How does she think that the trip that she described would be appealing in any way?

We live not far from TO and we've done the weekend trips to your neck of the woods, and they are rushed, exhausting, and not that much fun (aside from visiting family of course). I cannot imagine driving all that distance, with a dog, and a toddler, to do a race, then drive home. Craziness!

  • Wow, that sounds like a whirlwind trip for any couple, can't imagine doing it with a baby, being pg and with dogs. Was she expecting you to run too? Crazy.
