In case the flood wasn't enough...

My dryer decided to stop working yesterday.  Still tumbles fine, but no heat.  :(  boo.  I've had a load of white baby stuff in there for 3 cycles to try and get it dry and another one sitting in the washer.  Perfect timing.

Re: In case the flood wasn't enough...

  • Do you have a clothesline (or something that could become a clothesline) that you could use in the interium?
  • This happened to us and my dad found a simple fix, ?our dryer vent was a bit bent and clogged with lint. ?That was stopping it from heating, try checking that.?

Really?  Our manual said if it was 'slow to dry' that we should check for clogs, but I didn't realize that would stop it from heating.  Will definitely be checking that tonight!  With all the new receiving blankets etc. I've washed lately this might be the issue.  Thank you!

  • Definitely check the lint trap. Ours does not dry well when it's super full. Ahh the joys of having my parents 20 yr old hand me down W&D.

I hope it gets fixed! In the mean time at least it's nice and summy out so you can put things in the sun to dry!
