so, chris brown

what do you guys think of his "punishment" for pleading "guilty" to a felony conviction?

five years probation and 180 days of community service. wow. talk about a "you were a bad, bad boy!" pat on the head.

Re: so, chris brown

  • $20 says he violates his probation.  5 yrs is a looooooooong time.

  • I think it's fair and not really that different from what any other normal person would get for the same plea.

    ?

I'm willing to put down $50. And that's a lot of money to me nowadays.?

  • I'm glad he's doing community service instead of going to jail. I think it must be more humiliating to serve a punishment in public serving the people instead of hiding in a cell and possibly being released early.

ah, see - i don't know what the typical punishment is for a felony conviction like that.  i guess i wasn't sure what to expect, but i agree that it's better to see his ass picking up trash/cleaning up graffiti rather than wasting time in jail.

  • Honestly, I don't think it's very out of line with similar plea agreements for ordinary people. While it's true that most would have gotten some jail time (most likely 180 days served on weekends, which is usually converted into work service anyways), it is also true that most felony probation runs for three years and not five.

  • I expected him to get less than that, actually.
