Stock piling booze

Anyone stocking up incase the LCBO employees strike?

Re: Stock piling booze

  • No, but i have a tendency to buy stuff because the label looks cool so I usually have a stock pile anyway.
  • We are having a party on Saturday, so I have to go today and get the booze we need.  I am dreading the line-up though.

  • Big Smile That is awesome!

I wonder if the wine stores that are in the grocery stores will be affected?

  • I bought 6 bottles of wine and some rye earlier. Definitely busier than I would expect normally for a Tuesday morning! I don't think the Wine Racks will be affected, but I'm not sure about the Beer Store. Anyone know?

Doubt it.  Most of those are privately owned and definitely not unionized.

They were playing interview clips about this on the radio this morning and my fav was the raspy man who said "I love booze".  Priceless

  • I don't think we will be, hopefully by the time I can drink again everything will be back to normal!
  • Beer stores are totally separate so they won't be affected.
  • We don't drink so our answer is no.
  • just talked to DH, and apparently, yes we are going to the LCBO tonight.  I hope the lines aren't too bad.  I might send him by himself, I'd be quite a spectacle in a liquor store right now...

You would need a "momma needs to get her drink on" tshirt for such an event.

Well I do live in the 'East end' of London so I'm sure I'll fit right in!  Maybe I should wear pyjama  pants and a tank top with the belly hanging out with my fabulous red crocs.  <--- that's how I chased our damn dog down the street on the weekend.  It was spectacular.

Throw in some curlers, a hair net and cigarette and you may just make the evening news.

That is spectacular.  You need to add an unlit cigarette hanging out of your mouth and be sure to carry the bottles yourself and make a big show of waddling down the aisles.

Bahaha that'd be awesome.  At that point the only thing that would set me apart from the rest of the pregnant women around here is that I'm not 14...

  • GET OUT OF MY HEAD AMY!!!
  • i did! 12 bottles of wine/bubbly (to add to the already full wine fridge I have). Wanted to be safe, plus had no idea if I was going to be having people over etc. It was busy, shelves were a bit empty but everyone was in a pretty good mood.

no strike yet but it's not like it will go bad ;)
