Teachers: good teaching books to read?
I've read Harry Wong's "The First Day Of School" and I've also read "Teaching with Love and Logic." Now that I'm done with my ACP and have my standard (and all that work is behind me!) I'd like to read some other teaching books... what do you recommend? I'm EC-4/ESL so nothing above that level. I'd like to read books on discipline/classroom management/etc. I'll be teaching 1st this coming up school year... if that helps
Re: Teachers: good teaching books to read?
Ron Clark spoke at our convocation last year and he was a great speaker. I haven't read his books but based on reviews from others and his speaking I would imagine they're good.
Ruby Payne is good in helping you understand the mindset of families that come from poverty.
I had to read this one in college and it was one of my favorites:

Ron Clark's The Essential 55 is a good book. Our whole staff read it one year before school started. I also want to read The Excellent 11, I just haven't gotten around to it.
