Anyone else completely exhausted?

Please tell me I'm in good company :)  I woke up this morning to realization that my muscles were probably not completely recovered from my fall last week so my class yesterday and crazy appointment schedule did me in.  I feel like I've been run over by a bus.

Isn't it the weekend yet?  I really think it should be Thursday already...LOL.

Re: Anyone else completely exhausted?

  • :::raising hands:::  I'm exhausted too for many reasons!  Now that I am in the final weeks I've slowed down A TON.  I'm tired constantly and the ligament pains are pretty bad.  I look like I'm about 90 yrs. old when I walk, it's crazy.  I honestly thought I would get through this pregnancy without slowing down.  Just 2 weeks ago I was outside weeding and doing yard work and now there is NO WAY I can bend down like that anymore.  It's hard for me to slow down since I like to be busy all the time.  I'm listening to my body though and resting.

I'm also trying to hurry up and get things done at work for my 3 month maternity leave.  Try explaining my job to my mother who has ZERO computer abilities...I just know she will be calling me everyday while I am off.  She called the other day when I was off about sending an attachment on an email for my dad.  It took me 25 minutes (no lie) to explain it to her.  I hung up the phone and couldn't believe it said it was a 25 minute phone conversation.  AHHHHHHH!!!  This may be a stressful maternity leave...we shall see.

We are just about done with all other baby things...just another trip to babies r us and a few odds and ends.

So long story short...yes, I am exhausted too!  LOL!  You are not alone.

  • Wow, that looks like a bunch of complaining huh?  Honestly, I'm not complaining because I am lucky to have a pretty easy pregnancy overall and lucky to be blessed with this baby.  Sometimes the stress gets to me. I'm more stressed about my job and explaining it to my mom.  She is driving me NUTS!!!!
  • Totally.  My issues are with time.  I just can't seem to find the time to get everything I want to get done in a day.  Work has been taking up longer hours again lately and getting home at 7PM just doesn't leave a lot of time for me to get dinner done and everything else done at night and be able to get to bed at a decent time.  I think I need to start just getting out of here on time and leaving work for the next day.
  • Thank god I'm not the only one!  Lesli I can't imagine a 25 minute phone call to explain how to send an attachment.  I would probably want to shoot myself!

Jen mentioned about getting stuff done in the evening and I think that is part of why I am so tired.  Last week was my first week back to teaching Pilates two evenings a week so with that in addition to my PT clients in the evenings twice a week it means that basically I am working from 5:15 am until 6 pm or 5:15 am to 7:30 pm 4 out of 5 nights plus with DH's work schedule lately or hockey we have been eating dinner late...Saturday night it was 11 pm because he didn't get home from work until 10:30 and Monday it was 8:30.

You two have a good reason though for being exhausted since you're pregnant!

  • I was, I think I am getting over it.  I have been out "in the field" for work for the past week and a half working 10-12 hour days (blah) and sleeping in a hotel.  It was soooo nice to sleep in my own bed last night!
  • I'm exhausted, too (as is my Dh).  Our girls can't seem to figure out that darkness = nighttime = sleep time.  We always say that we'll get plenty of sleep when we're dead, so we might as well stay up now.
  • Count me in.  Ethan used to only get up once to twice a night.  We haven't seen sleep like that since he was 3.5 months old!  He gets up 3-6 times a night now!  We're working on it but he seems to be giving up his 3rd nap too.  It makes me sad b/c that means an earlier bedtime.  DH works until 7pm so if Ethan doesn't take that last nap then DH misses out on the evening routine.  I miss our teamwork during bath, story, and bedtime.  On top of that I'm cramming so much work into 3 days so that I can be home with him the other days.  Totally worth it but exhausting.

I hope we all recoup soon!!
